Is a recommendation from a PhD student who was my teacher an acceptable recommendation?

Or, should I ask another person who was a tenured professor, but didn’t know me at all. I already have two recommendations completed. One is by the PhD student, another one is by a tenured professor/program director for my degree. Just wondering if I should scrap the one written by the PhD student. The thing is that I knew the PhD student pretty well when she was my teacher. I visited her office hours every week and got to know her.

  1. I feel like the PhD student would know you better and more accurately describe your abilities to the JET Program. The tenured professor’s letter may come off as generic since they didn’t know you.

  2. I used someone a lot like this. He was my tutor for a long time and knows me way way better than any prof.
