My partner and I are leaving for Japan next week. We land in Narita Airport at 20:55 and were planning on staying at an airport hotel for the night before catching the 09:30 train from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko. Slight complication here- some travel blogs are saying that we must collect our tickets by 21:00 the day before our train departs… which will be impossible!
Do you know if we can collect the tickets on the same day at Shinjuku Station? Are there any kiosks which will be open that early? OR, does anyone know if the JR vending machines/ kiosks at the airport will be available past 21:00?
PS, we will not be buying a JR rail pass. Thank you so much in advance!

The deadline depends on how you obtained your ticket. The 2100 deadline seems to be for tickets reserved using a JR Pass not bought on the JR East website.

Do you have a voucher of some sort ? because it’s completely possible to just buy tickets to anywhere for the next train on the same day (provided it’s not full).
