1. Does anybody else get a sort of anki-blindness?
   Like, just now I saw 降る in my anki deck and drew a blank, yet if I saw it in context or conjugated I would always know its meaning and easily understand it.

2. Heres a sentence I wrote. Want to know if there is anything wrong with it? any colloquialism to make this sound more authentic is appreciated. 😀

   CONTEXT: I`m a spoiled japanese highschool student stuck in class, so I raise my hand to say…

   先生！！先生！！どうして一日中座って知っている？すぐ出ってください！！！

   What I wanted to say: “Teacher!!!!!! why do I have to sit here all day learning??? , I just want to leave now PLEASE!!!!”

3. What 刺さる人 and 刺さんない人 mean?

   from the context it seems pretty rude to address someone as 刺さんない人 so I guess the meaning would be “someone that jokes often fall flat”? or “unfunny person”?

4. **Appreciates if someone could explain the meaning of this word 剣呑な声 in this context ( i know it can mean “risky/ dangerous” ,but this doesn’t make sense in this context)**
   **Context: After his 1st real battle in an isekai world , MC became tired and he overslept (normally he wakes up early ). Then 1 girl came to wake him up , and told him that the clan leader wanted to see him.**

   初陣の疲れからか、いつも起きている時間には全く目が覚めず、

   帰蝶 Kichou「ちょっと。いつまで寝てるのよ！」

   **帰蝶の剣呑な声に起こされてしまった俺は、久遠が呼んでいるという報せを受け、疲れた身体を引きずってお城に向かった。**

So based on [the example sentences](https://jlptsensei.com/learn-japanese-grammar/%E3%81%AE%E3%82%84%E3%82%89-%E3%82%82%E3%81%AE%E3%82%84%E3%82%89-%E3%81%93%E3%81%A8%E3%82%84%E3%82%89-no-yara-mono-yara-koto-yara-meaning/#google_vignette), sentence ender のやら seems to just mean かな or だろうか . Correct?

   However I’m not sure what it’s functioning as in examples like this:

   どこにかぎをおいたのやら見つからない。

   わたしには何のことやらさっぱりわからない。

   Seems to just be like the embedded question か？Am I missing some nuance or function?

7. Does anyone have recommendations for pitch accent? In general, I do do it correctly (although I use Kyoto pitch, which isn’t too bad), but I noticed that instead of only raising/lowering pitch, I also elongate the mora the pitch changes on (I guess this is natural coming from a stress accent language). Is there any way to change this other than simply practicing it? Because if I practice it in a vacuum, it’s fine. But if I just speak casually, I will revert to the stress-inflected pattern

8. What happened to itazuraneko? It just says page not found.

9. How common is ryakuji in practice? e.g. Do most people handwrite some ryakuji when taking notes in class or a meeting?

10. I’ve been having difficulty learning Japanese. Everyday I study one word. I listen to it on repeat for 1 hour and write it out everytime I hear it. For example, the CD plays “hontou” and I write “hontou”.

    I’ve been doing this with a new word everyday for 6 months but I can’t remember any of them and I can’t understand anime. Where am I going wrong?

11. I heard that adult Japanese men can refer to their own mothers as “ofukuro”, or as a “respectful bag”. I thought this was strange, as Kanji from Persona 4 uses this.

    Is there any significance to this meaning? Is it derogatory or rough? Is it common?
