Searching job online in Japan

I will start looking for a job in Japan (I am living in Japan as a student) but I can’t recognize what is a black company and a good company when I search jobs onlinr. Also, any suggestions so that my CV looks good when looking for a job online, I have N3, a degree in computer sciences and I would like to work online.

  1. English tech jobs are not super common, and completely-online ones that accept new grads are even less so.

More importantly if you are a student (university?), you should be going through the shukatsu process to find an employer.

If you are a language-school student, it would probably be wise to seek out available job fairs and see what the market is like.

  2. If you have a lot of GitHub activity and such, you might do well on sites that measure that kind of open-source activity, like lapras and findy.

I always recommend students to get open-source experience, and labs to opensource their stuff. It really helps.

  3. To disseminate between white and black companies I suggest you check the 評判 of the company you are interested in. For example you can search “株式会社name of company 評判” and you should get reviews from people who worked there but not all reviews are recent and some can be unreliable.
Also the job listing has hints whether the company is black or not chiefly the amount of expected overtime and the portion of your expected salary that includes overtime e.g a base pay of 17.5万 but with expected overtime added a monthly salary of 25万円.
Lastly, the company 説明会, where they introduce the job role and company philosophy, history, work environment etc., can also provide hints.

  4. As in any other countries, I recommend looking at the websites of companies that interest you. For instance if you like telecoms as I do you might want ti check NTT, KDDI, NEC, Fujitsu… career websites and apply directly from there, or at least find the job offer you want and talk about them to some agent.

I am not new grad but working in telecoms in such company in full remote.
