Intermediate-level books/manga giveaway

I have gotten a lot out of this community since I started studying Japanese in 2018, and it is time for me to give something back, so to do that, and also to celebrate the reopening of the sub, I will be sending [these items](https://www.ebay.com/itm/115837503584) to someone that has successfully reached intermediate level, and is able to write a comment detailing how he/she got there or what will their plans be moving forward to tackle their intermediate-level studies.

The kit includes an intermediate level textbook (granted, not as good as Tobira or Quartet, but still great for sentence mining, or just to study N3 grammar patterns), and some shounen manga books in Japanese.

Please leave your comments below and the one with the most upvotes (or even the most thorough one that may not necessarily have the most upvotes) will be getting a DM from me to get their mailing address to get that kit and ship it to them.

  1. Thank you for giving back to the community and helping others improve!

I have tried to learn Japanese many times, with most of my attempts ending halfway through hiragana. I tried apps like LingoDeer and various websites that try to teach you the language, but they didn’t do it for me.

A good amount of time since then I decided to seriously give it my best shot and spent (a bit too) much time at the start reading about various language learning methods. Eventually I decided to use the Tango N5 deck for Anki, doing 20-40 cards every day. It was very tough as I wasn’t used to it and coincided with a tough time in my life, which ended up with me quitting.

About a year later with more free time and previous experience I decided to give it one final attempt with rekindled motivation (and more importantly, discipline). Since then I’ve been watching Cure Dolly’s great grammar explanations, finished both Tango N5 and N4 and have been learning many grammar points from the Dictionary of Japanese Grammar.

Alongside this I’ve been watching anime in Japanese and using the yomichan extension to automatically create new anki cards. With this I made a lot of progress quickly, have absolutely no plans of quitting, and I’m closing in on the N3 level. My plans for the future are to continue with this immersion-based approach supplemented by grammar study, and start reading manga/LNs alongside the anime.

I wish everyone reading this the best of luck with their JP studies and getting the kit!
