Any educational shows (cartoon or not) that teach you Japanese? Sort of like Dora the Explorer? Or an anime about Japanese and grammar and stuff? Thanks for reading.
Technically, in a way, yes, but it’ll be at a much higher level than Dora. There’s the j-drama/manga [日本人の知らない日本語 (*Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo*, “The Japanese language that the Japanese people do not know”)](https://youtu.be/-rnv0Hzjk28). It’s about a group of foreigners learning Japanese in Japan, taught by someone who doesn’t specialize in the Japanese language. But since all of the instructions are in Japanese, the audience is expected to understand a fairly high level of Japanese in the first place — ideally, roughly the same level as a native speaker who did not study Japanese linguistics, but you’ll understand plenty at around N3 level (basically starting to become conversational).
I know there are manga made by foreigners with other Japanese learners as the target audience, and there are YouTube channels teaching Japanese with example skits, but that’s about it.
not exactly a show but the “learn japanese to survive” series of games are pretty good for learning basic reading
Maybe just look up “Japanese kids shows” and see what comes up. Maybe start out learning basic words that kids would learn first.
