  1. I was actually done with wrestling at this point. I was beyond over WWE and I watched Double or Nothing that year and just didn’t see any appeal. I figured the industry had moved on from me.

Jon Moxley was always my guy in WWE so I knew about him doing that G1. That morning I had woken up around 3AM for no reason and couldn’t get back to sleep. I realized if there was a NJPW show on it probably would’ve been live at that time, so I told myself if it was on I would subscribe and watch it.

I had only seen ZSJ in pictures before and had literally never heard of Bad Luck Fale and yet they had me popping hard at 5AM alone in my room for a countout finish. That match pretty much saved my wrestling fandom. Been a fan ever since and honestly I love wrestling now way more than I did when I was watching WWE.

Of course the show only got better from there. Really love that my first ever show was main’d by Okada/Ospreay as that feud has defined my time as a fan.

  2. I watched bits and pieces of NJPW as i grew as a wrestling fan starting in 2012. My first ever NJPW match was Styles vs Nakamura at Wrestle Kingdom and i was blown away. At the time I couldn’t watch NJPW World because i didn’t have a job at the time and was busy with school, then Omega and Okada happened and again i was intrigued. It wasn’t until Shingo vs Ospreay BOSJ Finals was uploaded on Monday Free Match (i miss those) where i decided to make the purchase. Best purchase ever. My first show was Dominion 2021 and i had a blast from start to finish. It was then when I realized NJPW was my favorite!

  3. Blonde Sanada needs to come back. The public misses him and would pop for that blonde mane the way they did for the return of Okada’s shorts

  4. G1 29 was also my full time introduction to NJPW (had seen bits here and there beforehand) & never looked back.

I’ve since gone back and watched all of G1 27 & 28 (as well as all the ones since) – neck and neck between 27 & 29 for my favourite.

  5. That’s hilarious that’s exactly how I started with NJPW world cause I wanted to see how KENTA did
