ABA therapy in Japan

My wife and I are moving to Gunma in a few weeks and my wife with minimal Japanese is looking for work, preferably in ABA/behavioral therapy. Does anyone know of anything or resources where she could look for a place at all, let alone where she can work I’m english? She’s pretty much resigned to the fact she’s going to have to get a different job but I wanted to reach out here in a last ditch effort for some leads.

Thanks

  2. I’m a BCBA in Tokyo. Don’t know much about Gunma, but know agencies in Tokyo if you’re ever looking here. Just warning ABA is not covered by health insurance in Japan. Benefit not having to deal with insurance, con having to deal with rich people. It sucks when poorly informed wealthy people feel like if they can throw enough money at a problem it will go away.

Special needs schools here are basically daycare centers whose staff tell you to accept your child will never grow. instead of trying to help the learner actually learn they pacify them.

There is no license here for ABA, don’t even need to have a cert. Just say you do ABA and people will believe you. Hence all the crackpots here who give ABA a bad name.
