Best OTC medicine/lozenges for COVID throat. Recommendations please!

Hi all, COVID finally caught up with me and haven’t been too bad with the exception of the sorest throat I’ve ever had. Even just swallowing kills.

Would love to hear from people who found something at a drug store that helped soothe their throat. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  1. Why not just ask the pharmacist? They are trained, and can (hopefully) judge if OTC will suffice or if you should go to the doctor.

  2. I used the propolis hard candy got the throat. They come in clear bags with a bee on the bag. You can get ylem at seijo ishii or kaldi, maybe some supermarkets might sell them.

  3. Okay this one’s a bit weird, but hear me out.
Peel and cut an onion into quarters. Put it in a sealed jar with honey. Let it sit for at least a few hours.
Drink the juice. I swear it works.

  4. Warm salt water gargle. Super painful during but oh man nice after. Sleep with scarf around throat, idk why this helps but it does. Prop a pillow or two extra so you sleep at incline, helped me a bit.

If that don’t work go to doc and get more better suggestions than us internet randos

  5. Go to a doctor. When I got hand, foot and mouth disease from my kid a few years back it manifested itself in the worst sore throat I ever had, went to the doctor and they gave me a scrip(can’t remember the name) but it really helped.

  6. Lemon tea, ginger (a lot) and honey. I was skeptical but it really does work in my case to clear throat issues up quickly.

  7. I get Halls Sugar Free from the US. Not helpful to you, but I also finally got the wuflu about 6 months back, and I can tell you that the sore throat was only like a day. Weird, like one symptom would present, then go away and be followed by another symptom, and on and on for like five days. Lost taste and smell for like 25 hours, and then it “popped” back on.

    Strangest thing ever.
