I know we’re only a bit over halfway but I’m prepared to call 2023 a great year for NJPW. Some incredible crossover events and a wonderful influx of new(er) talent.
Main downsides I’m seeing are a couple of older talents maybe overdoing it (Tanahashi methinks that’s for sure, Naito, dunno if I see it as others do), a couple of dream matches underdelivering (one granted due to a mid-match injury), and the US title not appearing on a NJPW show for half a year.
stop calling every good match up a dream match. thats gotta be the most overused term in wrestling lol.
