Net Cafes to spend a comfortable night in?

Hi,

My girlfriend and I are going to be in Japan for a few weeks next month, and one of the things we’re really keen to try is the ‘alternative’ accommodations that are pretty unique to Japan (ryokans, capsule hotels, love hotels, etc.).

We’d love to spend one night in an internet cafe just for the experience. We’re not expecting it to be our most comfortable night, but as I’m quite tall I’m keen to find a more spacious set up. I’ve seen places like disk city and hailey’5 mentioned as more ‘luxurious’ internet cafes, but unfortunately the info available in English online about sleeping in a internet cafe is unsurprisingly pretty limited.

Has anyone done this before, and do you have any recommendations? The goal is to find a cafe with a large private room option- other frills would be fun but aren’t essential! Of course we don’t mind how expensive it is relative to a ‘typical’ internet cafe.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

  1. I’ve stayed in a lot in different ones when I was poverty-traveling around. One that stands out is this one in Osaka: [https://kin-v.jp/shop/shopinfo.php?id=464](https://kin-v.jp/shop/shopinfo.php?id=464)

Mostly because it has actual rooms so you don’t have to listen to whatever shitty music is playing or all the people around you, and can turn off the lights.

Make sure you ask for a ‘flat mat’ room (フラットマット).
