Recommendations for buying a plain gold wedding ring in Tokyo

I’ve found a ring I’m likely to buy from suehiro but I want to ask for recommendations before I buy one.
I’m just looking for a plain gold ring, I’m looking at spending about 6 man but if I can get the same thing cheaper then I’m willing to go with that.

I’d appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you

  1. Get a key ring and paint it gold lmao

If you are looking to cheap out on a wedding ring m8 you have more important things to sort out imho

  2. Bruf… in a year’s time, you aren’t going to miss the few extra man you spent on your rings, but your wife is going to remember you tried to cheap out forever.

  3. If you’re buying your own band, does it have to be gold? Why not get a ring you really want? If you just want the appearance of one, then I think you can get one for much cheaper, will probably fade in a year or 2, though.

  4. I don’t have suggestions on where to buy, but 6万円 is just fine. Wedding bands don’t need to be expensive. Does a 60万円 ring do better ring things?

The whole happy wife, happy life can be true, but so can a wife that doesn’t want expensive jewelry and would rather have that money go to the honeymoon. I think both can be reasonable. No need to shame just because you happen to be in one camp.

There is a difference between a wedding band (usually relatively cheap and more practical) and a engagement ring (usually has the gem stone and a bit more for show). OP may have been referring to the wedding band.

  5. Costco does sell gold bands with nominal expense, although limited to sizes smaller than 18.

  6. There are places you can design and make your wedding bands together, I’d recommend the experience, it is not that expensive.

  7. I read the post thinking a 6 man wedding ring is quite expensive. Then I scroll down to see everyone shitting on OP for cheaping out.

It’s fascinating how different cultures value different things.

  8. Slightly of your budget range probably but we got ours from Niessing in Aoyama. Gold with matte finish. It was a bit over 20万 for the pair if I am not mistaken.

  9. My wedding ring was around 12万円 but the engagement ring was around 60万円 , my wife has worn the engagement ring a total of 4 times? Only wears it to somebody else’s wedding . Rest of the time it’s just in her chest of drawers. Biggest waste of money ever spent.

  10. Why not just buy online? Plenty of options and they’ll be cheaper than in store. Have you seen titanium rings? They’re cool if you haven’t considered them, but can’t be easily resized.

    Edit:
This is for the groom right?

If it’s for the bride maybe online isn’t a good choice. And most women won’t think titanium is cool like guys will 😅

  11. Does it need to be made of real gold.
Otherwise a tungsten carbide ring would look as good and last longer. Dirt cheap too

  12. Hi!

You can have a look at Star Jewelry, Vendome Aoyama and Agete. I personally wear these brands everyday. These are 10k, 14k or 18k solid gold rings. Have a look at Daimaru, Takashimaya, Isetan Mitsukoshi department stores and you will find many good quality jewelry brands with plenty of designs and are hugely popular with Japanese ladies.

These brands will come with warranty and free cleaning services to maintain the gold colour.

When it comes to plain gold jewelry, you really don’t need to splurge. Often times you end up paying for the brand. Actual solid real gold are not expensive. Google gold price today and you will see 1gm is only like 64usd per gram. So the thousands you pay for a plain gold ring say from Tiffany & Co, you’re just paying for the brand, their boutique rental etc.

  13. SUEHIRO東京本店 is good.

Edit: Just checked google and looks like Tsutsumi has pretty average reviews.
I can personally recommend SUEHIRO, bought my own ring there. Very affordable, and everyone treated me very kindly and patiently.

  14. If you don’t need it now, don’t buy it now! The gold price is currently too high. The price also depends on the percentage of gold in the ring. I personally prefer 24K.

If you want to resell it later for any reason: brand doesn’t matter, as long as it’s real gold. Don’t get a stone in it because gold is worth a lot more than any stone and diamond.

  15. Interesting – my wife wears wedding band + her wedding ring all the time.

Wedding band was about 10万, engagement ring was.. very expensive at 300万. But at least she’s very happy with it and wears it everyday 😅.

  16. For a wedding band, 100k will get you something decent in gold if you’re not chasing a brand like Tiffany. Best get pure gold which afaik lasts longer but I may be wrong.

Unsolicited comment: You sure you want to get married? As someone who is married and knows how much of effort it needs I can say that you need a Buddha’s patience to survive. All the best!
