itinerary check: chubu/ kanto for 14 days

Hello! hoping to get some preliminary feedback on my rough itinerary for Chubu/Kanto region. It’s super rough and not very well planned in terms of activities yet as I want check if my travel flow makes sense…

Travelling in Mid-late october with my parents in their 60s, planning to buy 14 day JR pass..

Note: Have done Kanazawa/Alpine route/ Shirakawago/Kurobe in my previous trip, not planning to revisit.

Day 0: Land at KIX around 10pm + hang around till next morning

Day 1: Travel from KIX to Takayama (will forward big luggages to Nagano hotel) > overnight at Takayama (explore old town, sake, hida beef)

Day 2: Travel from Takayama to Kamikochi (AM) > overnight at Kamikochi

Day 3: Explore Kamikochi in the morning till late noon > travel to Matsumoto + explore Matsumoto before going to Nagano (overnight)

Day 4: Undecided, either do a day trip from Nagano or explore Nagano

Day 5: Travel from Nagano to Tokyo, then explore Tokyo

*\[Tokyo leg is very flexible, but disneyland and trip to see Mount Fuji is pretty fixed\]*Day 6 to 9: 1 day for disneyland, 1 day for visit to Mount fuji, 1 day to explore Tokyo fully, 1 day for a day trip outside Tokyo with JR pass

Day 10: Travel from Tokyo to Gero onsen > overnight at Gero ryokan

Day 11: Travel from Gero to Nagoya > day trip to Magome – Tsumago (flat hiking)

Day 12: Travel from Nagoya to Osaka > overnight in Osaka

Day 13: Explore Osaka + flight at KIX 11pm

Questions

* I have a free extra day (currently not included above, i.e. day 14) that I can slot in anywhere – any suggestions? Was planning to stay in Kamikochi for 2 nights but think might be an overkill (also budget)
* Any other must sees in Chubu/Kanto region you would recommend? Plus points if it utilises the JR pass!!
* Plans are flexible because I don’t have anything booked yet, hence open to suggestions from the community 🙂

Thank you soo soo much in advance 🙂
