  1. Since I started watching New Japan over five years ago, I’ve developed a soft spot for YOSHI-HASHI. Sure, the vitriol he received from online fans and a few IRL ones accelerated that but he always shown up when the time came and put in the work. The increased appreciation shown for him over the last few years, especially the pandemic, has been heartwarming to say the least. Goto, of course, has the type of history within the company that garners respect instantly (that is, if you don’t take into account his constant choking when it comes to the IWGP Heavyweight Championship).
