EVIL is fine in the undercard but that’s where he has to stay for this to work. I pray we never return to the days of him going 7-2 in a G1.

Sure. I can’t really say I’m too invested either way but I’d be fine with this. If for no other reason than his music is better. If it leads to less bad knockoff trap themes then great.
Only if we get a video package of a ritual in which Togo is crucified in his briefs as Yujiro, Evil, and Sho look on in hoods and this gives special powers to Evil.

I really liked the match yesterday. The belt shot to prepare the finish. And the punch with the cane just as a big fuck you to the worst part of bullet club. EVIL always was midcard. Before and after his heel turn. Compare him to sanada, who took his chance and hit a home run.
And I’d rather have KENTA lead then Evil.
He might be fine now, but I’ll never accept a Bullet Club (a faction made by foreigners for foreigners) led by a Japanese wrestler
If they’d booked EVIL as a monster heel out of the gate, it could’ve worked. Establishing him as a chickenshit heel might be Gedo’s biggest booking misstep.
I like Finlay as leader and I like EVIL as well, I think he’s doing good in this G1 so far. The whole HoT act is better since crowds can actually react to the heel work. (well, except yesterday with that horrible crowd) At least for SHO on the last BOSJ and EVIL I think it works.
Not sure I’d want to see him as world champion again but as a midcard act who can still be a threat to the main eventers he’s good and is one of these guys who can make the crowd cheer for any of his opponents and put them over as babyface. It can always be useful to have this type of heel in your roster.
