Why does this sub always get so defensive and start boogiemanning “ignorant westerners” whenever any mention of Japanese women’s rights being anything less than flawless is brought up?
The metrics are listed in the report and include the proportion of women in legislative roles, wage gaps, and female life expectancy. Obviously it’s an incomplete picture but if Japan were actually a bastion of women’s rights I would like to hear explanations as to why they would score so poorly on them.
There are also cultural issues e.g. groping on trains and women being required to wear high heels to work.
Deflecting to other countries (w-what about Bangladesh?) is perhaps the worst way to respond to this.
