Did you ll watch Oppenheimer? And what are your thoughts about it?

1. Hurr durr nuke Japan movie.

   The “based on a true story” work of fiction isn’t out here you numpty.

2. Pretty artsy and most likely difficult to follow if you’re not already a history nerd. Not a great biopic imo, and the special effects were a bit underwhelming considering the hype. I’m also glad they didn’t show any scenes of the Japan bombings as it would have detracted from the story and just turned the movie into gore porn.

   I would give it 7/10.

3. I think Nolan is at his best when he works with simpler concepts like The Prestige and Insomnia, and I really liked Oppenheimer.

   Cillian Murphy is great in it, but Robert Downey Jr steals the show in my opinion. The supporting cast is incredible altogether but it will take some effort to remember exactly who’s who, given how many characters there are.

   Visually, the film is great and Nolan’s best directing effort. And this time around, the dialogue is easy to hear (unlike Tenet).

4. It hasn’t been released in Japan yet. It’s fairly common for movie releases in Japan to be months after other countries.
