Hi there,
I am currently in the middle of a working holiday in Australia and things are going very well. I’ve found it somewhat easy to find work, I have managed to travel a decent portion of the country and I feel quite happy with what I have accomplished in such a short time.
As a result I was considering a Working Holiday in Japan in about 2 years time.
However all my research is bringing me to the conclusion that it is going to be incredibly difficult. Don’t get me wrong, I never thought it would ever be a walk in the park. I have been preparing by dedicating around 2 hours a day to learning the language for the last 7 months, which I intend to continue to study, and researching endlessly for ideas about job opportunities and how I will finance the year.
I have a degree in Web Development and was an E-Commerce Admin in London for 2 Years alongside other IT roles.
My main concerns are regarding the working culture, the wages and what my language capabilities will be when I intend to go there.
I am also struggling to find other Japan Working Holiday Goers online to learn about their experiences, specifically when it came to finding and working Jobs.
Am I in over my head thinking I can reasonably achieve seeing a handful of different areas of the country while being able to essentially job hop and still be able to finance the trip? Similar to as I am currently in Australia?
Apologies for the long post, any discussion or advice would be much appreciated.
