Applying for web developer jobs with no experience

Can anyone give any information regarding how to apply to companies for web developer jobs in Japan considering my situation.
I have a bachelors degree in commerce, but I have been learning computer science because I didnt like commerce. I have done many personal projects and developed web applications and websites with javascript, python, java, reactjs, nodejs, tailwindcss, flask, bootstrap, threejs.
I have been trying hard to get a job by applying to various companies, but I am not getting any offer and I am feeling discouraged because of it. I can understand basic conversational japanese but I cant read or write japanese.

Without *professional* experience (not just personal projects), a relevant degree, or Japanese fluency you don’t really have much to recommend yourself.

While there *is* a developer shortage here (and worldwide) that doesn’t mean that companies are hiring everyone who sends in a resume. Most entry-level positions in Japan are hired straight out of university via the shinsotsu system. While it’s certain *possible* to get an entry level developer position from outside Japan (Again: Worldwide shortage) it’s not easy.

You have three issues here that I mentioned above. Degree, experience, and language. In order to make yourself an attractive candidate you need to solve at least one of those. Preferably two.

You can’t fix the “degree” problem, so you need to focus on the other two. Get some professional experience in your home country. While you’re doing that, work on learning the language.

  3. Sorry, but it’s bureaucratically impossible for you. To get the CoE and working visa, the Japanese immigration office require a degree or solid proof that you have at least 10 years of experience within the field of the job you’re applying.

Right now, you only have a shot if you try apply for a job in commerce industry, but not in web development or IT industry. Even then there are still language barrier and japanese custom barrier such as Japanese format resume (rirekisho & shokumu rirekisho) and japanese style interview. Please go watch a youtube video about this, it’s very strict, doing these casually or informally will guaranteed a rejection from the get go.
