DoCoMo Hikari 10G Internet

I have DoCoMo Hikari 10G Internet with GMO tokutoku BB.

I try to replace the rental router by an ASUS router of which ASUS states it supports the above (v6plus). The setup should be “a child can do it” level, however, I cannot get it to work.

In the logs I notice two things: (1) an error message: [MAP-E]: MAP server did not reply and (2) there does not seem to be a WAN IPv6 address assigned.

Has anyone gotten an ASUS router to work with the above Internet? Does anyone know whether DoCoMo Hikari 1G is different from 10G. I came across a reference that 10G is Flets Hikari Cross.

Or can anyone recommend a better Internet?

  1. My ASUS rt-ax86u works really well with it. During initial setup, you need the email and password that GMO mailed you.

  2. Same happened with me but with a TP Link router. It was suppose to support v6 plus and it did connect but was very unstable.

Bit the bullet and got an NEC Aterm WX11000T12 (which you probably should get if you really want use all of your 10Gig internet) and all my problems went away.

I think international router manufacturers just tack on Japanese settings to the firmware as an afterthought.
