Applied to a language school in Nagoya. Anyone living there can tell me your experience?

Hi so i have only 1 month left till my visa results but I want to be optimistic and assume I will be accepted. With that out of the way I want to talk to someone who lives/lived there and if possible answer these questions

1. How is overall experience in Nagoya?
2. How are health centres like hospitals. Do they speak English?
3. In general recommend me some good places for everyday meals since I don’t cook. Preferably the places you had the best experience in

  2. >How is overall experience in Nagoya?

Nagoya is a ***very*** large city. It’s difficult to sum up any “overall experience”.

There’s great food in Nagoya. But there’s not a lot of things to do. If you’re only there for 6 months it’ll be fine, but if you’re going for a year or more you’ll find yourself travelling outside the city a lot because of the lack of things in Nagoya. The good news is that Nagoya is very centrally located, so it’s easy to get to Kyoto and Osaka, and even to Tokyo.

    >How are health centres like hospitals.

Again: ***Very*** large city. There are hundreds of clinics and like a dozen hospitals. It’s impossible to review all of them for you.

    >Do they speak English?

You should assume the answer is “No”. Some of them might have a translator on staff, but a lot of them do not.

    >In general recommend me some good places for everyday meals since I don’t cook.

Broken record time: **Nagoya is a** ***very*** **large city**.

Saying “recommend a restaurant in all of Nagoya” is like saying “recommend a restaurant in all of NYC”, or “in all of London”.

Without more specifics about which part of the city you’ll be living in it’s basically impossible to recommend anything.
