Hey everyone! I am a software developer I started learning that since 2008 and I was a freelancer now I got a job in a scientific company in Algeria as a software engineer there, and I have one year there of experience,
I dropped off college without getting a degree
I’m 27 years old male and married
I have 3 months learning Japanese and I’m planing to learn more for extra months
What are my chances for me to find a job there and take my spouse with me.
I would really appreciate your replies and I appolgize if I didn’t post correctly.
Thank you!

How many years of experience do you have? You can work in Japan and get the work visa if you have **10 years work experience** in your field or a **bachelors degree**. I’m not sure if freelance experience will count, you’ll have to ask around, my guess is no though. Try joining the TokyoDev discord and ask there, or mabye other people on here will chime in.
If you have no degree you won’t be able to get a work visa (will be sponsored by the company in Japan) even if you decided to go to a language school and switch off from a student visa.
Do you have JLPT? Can you speak Japanese? If not then it will be really difficult man. I don’t want to say impossible, but you’ll have to get incredibly lucky to find a job from abroad that would be willing to get you a visa and bring you over to Japan.
Is your wife Japanese? Then that’s a surefire way in.
Chances are probably very low right now. Improve your Japanese and get a degree/ get more experience. As the other commentator said, 10 years experience can get you a visa, but you have to ask yourself, why would a Japanese company hire someone who has experience and no degree when they can hire someone with experience and a degree. You are young, you have time. Good luck to you
Easiest way in is to go to a Japanese language school for a year and a half to get a student visa. You can try to find permanent employment while you’re enrolled as a student, but usually you’ll need to be at least N2 level at Japanese to even be considered
You really need a degree, so pretty low until that happens
I’m not seeing the other side of this.. does your wife share the same interest in coming to japan as you? I’ve had friends that have brought their wives over (and kids.) And two years in the wonder and magic wore off as the reality of the fact of being a housewife in Tokyo is extremely isolating and pushed marriages to the point of divorce..
Do consider the wife and her real interest. Make sure it’s real and just her placating what she may think is a pipe dream.
