Do you need a bachelor’s degree to move to Japan? What about a two-year college diploma? (Canadian)

I’ve heard that it’s required (or highly recommended) that you need a bachelors degree or at least 10 years of experience. I have neither of these but am looking into doing a working holiday in Japan. I do have a two year diploma from a Canadian college/polytechnic plus a few years of experience related to my field. How sufficient is that? I’m still in the early stages of figuring it all out.

  2. The bachelors or experience is immigration requirements for a work visa.
You are fine without for a year working holiday visa.

  3. Bachelors is just a work visa requirement. If you’re doing the working holiday visa, you don’t require any college education.

But if you’re planning on staying for the full year and potentially building a bit of a life for yourself there, it would be a good idea to have your bachelors ready incase you want to change your visa status and maintain residency at the end of the year.
