Well it really depends a decent gym maybe around 7000-8000 yen but super cheap chocoZAP is 3000yen
im paying like 7000 yen for anytime fitness
4-7k depending on where you live
3200 ish for chocoZAP
12,000ish for Gold’s (foe the one location, 24/7 plan)
Depends what your goals are. If you are just a casual gym goer and just want to get a little exercise, you can get by with 3-7 k. But if you want to have a gym with proper weight lifting stuff (squat rack etc) you are looking at over 10,000.
4k-8k average.
For a gold gym 8-15k depend on your plan.
I’m paying 4k because of student discount.
You’d get more relevant answers if you said where you live. Central Tokyo is going to be very different from inaka.
Depends on what you consider a gym.
People keep recommending chocozap, but if you’re not into only cardio, most gyms with machines and weightlifting equipment or classes cost between 7,000-12,000 yen.
A gym near my work, which is key for me going to it, is 11,500. It has a pool in it as well, which is a major reason I picked it.
Your city may also have a public gym. For me it was around 300 or 400 per visit for residents and 500 for non-residents. The larger ones like Minato Ku public gym will cost more.
5000 at fit 24 6000 anytime fitness
600Â¥ per month or 100Â¥ per visit for my local public gym.
If you have the same gym in your home country and they do worldwide membership it can sometimes be cheaper to sign up in your home country.
8k for the Anytime next my house.
Thinking of joining a proper lifting gym, that seems to be 10-12k.
I’m paying 5200 for 24h gym, blue fitness ( not major but they have several locations in Kanto).
Gyms in japan are crazy expensive. I think I’m paying a little over 6000 a month and it’s very small. It does have free weights and some machines but a gym in the US for that much money per month would offer classes and a pool as well
Gyms in Japan are overpriced and garbage if you intend to weight train. 8000+ yen a month and you’d be lucky if there’s more than one squat rack or even a bench press station.
Anytime fitness or any other of the chain 24/7 ones is like 6-8000 yen. Mine is 6,500.
Nearby gym was around 10,000 yen per month. I instead spent like 20,000 yen on a stationary bike and some free weights and have been doing pretty well for about 3 years now, though I will admit I wish I had more space for stuff like a barbell
I’ve gone to various gyms over my decade and a half here and the prices range from Â¥300 per visit to Â¥18,000 per month. The median range seems to be about Â¥5000 to Â¥8000 per month for gyms with free weights and serious training areas (not just running machines and a few st machines).
My favorite gym I’ve ever been a member of was a local place that offered decent gym facilities, but also had a pool, squash court, basketball court, and swimming pool for Â¥7700 per month.
Im paying zero. Because I dropped a little over 500,000 on my home gym. Money well spent but you could make a decent home gym for 100k
Mine is 4500 yen for 6 months, after that 6800 yen per month.
Mine is ¥1,600 for month at the city gym in Nagoya (all the city gyms are the same price and I have access to all of them) I’m lucky because I live right next to it.
Â¥25000 for premium membership at a CrossFit gym. Absolutely worth it
Mines ¥10,000 with limited opening hours. But i can do classes and it has a bath which is a perk 😂 There is very little choice around me though.
My experience has been 6000-8000 at places like Anytime and Joyfit and 8,000-12,000 for places like Tipness and Central Sports for a regular membership.
Municipal gyms vary widely – Osaka City would charge 700 yen per visit of 4900 yen per month.
I pay ¥3200/mo for fit365.
I was paying 9k-ish to Konami sports with u35 plan, can use the gym after 5pm every weekday and all the time on weekends. Now I’m going to golds gym for around 14k for Kanto pass, what is another 5k for proper equipment and better folks than some old jijis
I think I am paying too much for my boxing gym aroung 11k per month. Lol
