  1. Unlike most people in the sub (and r/SquaredCircle if we’re getting down to it), I’m willing to give David Finlay’s Bullet Club a chance. Yeah it’s not as captivating, not as groundbreaking and not as flashy and shtick-driven as the other iterations but what it has is a clean slate and something for me to grab onto. Maybe Finlay being the leader is proving some kind of point as far as being the antithesis of the previous four leaders in that he’s not someone who has an aura about him that outshines the group’s ethos. He is straightforward, he wants to get the job done, he’s not one for goofing around. Not anymore, at least. He’s done that and now there are bigger fish to fry. I believe what also helps me get aboard the train is the War Dogs, who provide way more of an intensity not seen in Bullet Club in forever and who are mesmerizing to watch as they destroy what’s in their path. Coughlin’s promo at the G1 Press Conference and Kidd’s overall anarchic antics throughout the tournament is keeping me satiated. That’s not to mention the junior War Dogs in Dan and Clark, who may provide a similar energy in the Super Jr. Tag League.

Overall, I’m very excited by what’s about to occur in Bullet Club going forward. I’ve never been someone who vouches for them but now they’re my dogs for real.

  2. It’s still his era though. Finlay is a wet fish as Bullet Club leader, he is the most unbelievable member in that group.

  3. I’ve been thinking with the rise of the “Reiwa Three Musketeers” that it would have been really cool to have Jay, Juice, and Finlay in Bullet club together, and have stories/rivalries based off of Umino, Narita, and Tsuji battling the gaijin “musketeers” of BC.

  4. I think they’re doing great, and judging by their merch sales I think the Japanese wrestling fans also agree, although how much of that is due to the Bullet Club name I’m not sure.

I really do think the Bullet Club moniker actually hinders them right now. Finlay’s always gonna be compared to the other leaders, and he just comes up short against all of them currently.

Plus, he’s come at a time when they’re at the most divided (Main Bullet Club guys (Fale, Chase, KENTA, etc.), House of Torture yucking it up, War Dogs, the Impact contagion of Ace Austin and Chris Bey (who are awesome by the way), and a sub-group he doesn’t even recognize in Bullet Club Gold, not to mention the splitting off of Guerillas of Destiny).

I think he’d have an easier time if it was just War Dogs by themselves, him, Gabe, Alex, Clark, and Dan are already mega-interesting.
