Am I the only weirdo that could watch Japanese cities’ traffic for hours without ever being bored? [Weirdly specific]

I know this is probably kinda weird and maybe even uncommon but I come from a tiny island where public transport is really subpar and I love, like not like love, like genuinely ADORE seeing trains, cars, and metros crossing in the middle of Japanese cities. I remember having this feeling for the first time coming back from a drunk night out in Shinjuku. I managed to catch the last train and it was pitch black. The only lights I could see were the reflections of other trains in the window. And then, out of nowhere, a Shinkansen just zooming through the city, people asleep, reading the journal, listening to music… At this moment I was in owe. I could not believe how beautiful and well choregraphed Japanese traffic system is.

Then, I did my exchange in Hiroshima and that feeling never left me. Since my university was at the top of a moutain I had an awesome view of the city where I could see both trains, metros, and cars in the distance. I remember countless time when I zoned out for several minutes during class, just imagining where do all these cars are going, passing between the moutains and tunnels. Where could this bright red local train bring its passengers? Where would I arrive if I took that yellow train passing by the sea?

Sorry if it was a weird post. I’m just fascinated by little things I guess. But when you come from a small country these things are not acquired ahah. As an illustration, I found this little gif that perfectly depicts my feeling. Like, am I the only weirdo that could watch such types of sceneries forever?
