Im looking at the bookoff online shop for manga and most of it are more than 50% off due to being used. What are the condition of the books that are usually sold?
In my experience they are usually almost always in like-new condition. Bookoff and other off stores tend to sell anime related stuff for pretty cheap regardless of the condition it’s in.
Sure there could be some wear and tear but for the price it’s usually not worth thinking about. Everything I’ve bought used has been in pristine condition.
Excellent. We have a home library thanks to bookoff
I’ve bought multiple books and comics from book off, they were all in excellent condition. No tears, marks etc.
Great condition.
Bookoff near my apartment also have semi permanent 100 yen for Light Novels. Such blessing.
Just like the ones on display in a storefront.
They’re usually in pretty good condition. If you’re lucky you can get some English manga for like 110円, though usually it’s 220-330~ I’ve seen some going for like 850! (Death note, meh condition) I live hitting up all the different Book offs, I’ve bought like 30+ books from there so far.
Bookoff rejected one of my books because the pages had yellowed slightly. In my experience, most secondhand stores here won’t accept things that are in anything less than *mint* condition. It’s nice for consumers, but it means that you often end up having to throw away perfectly usable items because they show signs of gentle use. Personally, I even *like* books with yellowed pages. It makes me sad to think they just end up in landfills
