I have a question about the visa renewal with an expiring passport..
So far I’ve had five year work visas while in japan but this time round my visa is set to expire in January next year (2024) and my passport for my home country is set to expire in Nov 2025… and while I understand that they are two separate things, will immigration only give me a short term visa up until my passport runs out?
I’m kinda worrying myself about this.. has anyone had this experience before? haha 😅

No, they won’t give you a short visa period unless the immigration officer was feeling vengeful and would suddenly give you a one-year visa.

Hih? Can’t you just renew your passport before 2025? Just take a vacation back home and renew your passport…..
