Online medication importation process

I’m wondering if anyone has used the new medication importation process to bring over more than a months supply of a prescription. I’m getting the runaround from my insurance/doctor so getting the proper documentation is taking longer than expected and I’m starting to worry I won’t make my August 5th departure. Does anyone know what the turnaround time is like?

  1. I filled mine out about a week ago and got it back in about three days! It’s much quicker with the online form, though earlier is definitely better when you can

  2. The online form turnaround time is very quick. I submitted mine and heard back a day later with their request for a couple changes. I was able to update it and get approved a day after that.

  3. I received mine the same day I submitted it! Lodged in the early morning and heard back in the arvo ☺️

  4. I filled out the online form on June 23rd (Friday) and received the import certificate June 27th (Tuesday), so I’d say it would take around 3 business days. If you’re worried about not meeting the deadline, I suggest looking for ways to have the prescription shipped to you. You can just bring under a month supply at first and fill out an import form to have a larger than one month supply shipped to you. There’s instructions for doing that on the Yunyu Kakuninsho form on the Japan Ministry of Health website. This is of course just a possible emergency plan if things do not go well. You still have time though.

  5. super fast, i got mine the same day and it was way easier to figure out than the physical forms
