Is my moving plan viable?

Hello everyone!

I’m coming to Tokyo on the 21st August and is wondering about I can store my luggage for 2-3 weeks.

Briefly, my rent starts from the 5th September. However, I need to be in Japan from the 21st (roughly 2 week before the move-in date). I am bringing 1 carry-on suitcase and 2 large suitcases, which is everything I have to move to Japan for two years. So here is my plan:

– I will stay at a Airbnb until the move-in date and only use the essentials packed in my carry-on.

– I will use the Narita airport’s delivery service (Yamato Kuroneko?) to store and deliver my two large suitcases to my apartment on the 5th.

However, I have contacted the delivery company if I can store the luggage at the airport for two weeks and has not got any reply. Therefore, I’m wondering if I can do so. If not, I would appreciate if you have any recommendations for my case.

P/s: I’m 5’2 with a weak knee and no friend. I can’t really take everything with me to the Airbnb and then to my apartment without the airport trolley 😢

  2. I used Yamato Ta-Q-Bin before for moving and they could only hold my stuffs for 1 week max before delivering to destination, but airport service one is probably different.

~~If you have spare time, in case they refuse storing that long, how about making multiple round trips to Narita to transport your stuff one by one (just ask them to hold it for 1-2 days) to your AirBnB (and then to your aparment)?

Admittedly not the most time/money efficient suggestion but just throwing an alternative in case you find out the day right on the counter if they dont reply to you until then.~~

Edit: u/tokyo12345’s suggestion sounds better if you can ship from airport -> airbnb then airbnb -> apartment.

  3. have everything shipped to your airbnb, then ship from there to your apt. shipping company will come pick it up
