  1. A few things

    – do you need pocket wifi? If your phone allows it, can you not use an e-sim

    – September 18 – unless there are mobility issues, if so, then reconsider the climb, it will not take you 4 hours to go up and down Fushimi Inari. Why not start the climb around 6 am, be back down by 8 or so. Then you can take the JR line to Nara and check out Nara. You can also do a quick stop at Uji and you will be back at Kyoto by late afternoon.

    – in Kyoto, are you not planning to check out kiyomizudera? Nishiki market? Arashiyama ?

    – Pontocho – it is more of an evening thing. Most places open at 5 or later.

  2. Thank you so much! Earlier for Fushimi Inari to free up a day in Kyoto is great advice.

  3. September 19th is pretty packed. Getting to Kurama takes about 40 minutes from central kyoto and then to get back from Kifune longer as it’s a pretty long walk to the station. I’m not saying it’s not doable in 6 hours, but it’ll be rushed and September is still hot and humid in Japan so you might want to slow down a bit.
