3 week Itinerary in September – A few questions

I want to start of by saying this community has been ESSENTIAL for helping me plan this trip. Other trip reports, itineraries, comments are so in-depth and thoughtful. Thank you to everyone for being so thorough and amazing.

My husband and I (early 30s) are going on our honeymoon and my main questions are:

-Does this look feasible/any sore thumbs?

-Any recommendations for experiencing the local music scenes? I’m a musician and would love to experience any genres.

-Any “can’t miss” additions to any days?

-Minor specific questions dispersed in itinerary

  1. Responding to your question about the local music scene. I believe there is gonna be a beer + pizza + live music event in Baird Beer Taproom, Nakameguro on September 17.

  2. not a musician, but a music enthusiast here. I’m arriving sep 26 and am also lookin for music events to attend. saw that you included a gig in shimokitazawa in your itinerary – i read that this neighbourhood has a lot of nice small vanues and a nice night athmosphere, but I’m having trouble finding the venues scheudules.

have you found something specific to attend or you’re just going to look for something when you’re there?

    (sorry for the bad english)

  3. On your day 6, would you be happy to come back all the way to Pontocho from Arashiyama just for lunch if you get the reservation? Isn’t it a great idea for you to switch your day 6 itinerary with the day 5?

  4. Hey there!
First off: what a nice plan! It seems jam packed but very well researched ~
Actually my partner and I are also going to Japan for 19 days, also in September >.< I’m kinda worried about typhoons, not gonna lie …
We’ll be doing the golden route mainly too, but maybe planning to add another stop at nagano.
Interesting that you’ll be going to hakone on the way BACK to Tokyo, we planned to do it right after 5 days in tokyo, but I think yours sounds better!
Do you consider Kamakura as a day trip from Tokyo? Or Yokohama? Could recommend those if you’d like to see the big Gundam robot or the big Buddha statue 🙂

Have a lovely trip and a lot of fun!
