  1. Genderless restrooms is such a backward step. Female-only restrooms are what cut the “urinary leash.” This makes about as much sense as going back to mixed sex bathing.

  2. Really not fussed about any of this, just wash your damn hands. Finger tips in the water ain’t gonna cut it.

  3. I think it would’ve been much less controversial if they installed a gender-neutral restroom *in addition* to men/women restrooms.

    Even worse, a newly-built public restroom in Shibuya ward has a men’s room and gender-neutral room, and has no women’s room.

  4. I mean, looking at the setup… it’s basically how a large amount of cafes operate. There will be 2 or three bathrooms with a communal sink (in addition to the one in the bathroom stall). I don’t quite see how slapping M or F onto the doors is going to change anything? Maybe I’m not understanding how they’re renovating it. Edit: Oh, so they’ve seperated them… but have they kept the communal sink?
