If I bought a Kobo here in Japan, is there a way I could link my device to use Overdrive in Australia (for example)?
Any other hints for getting the most out of it? I’m keen to switch from my old Kindle.

I use mine connected to my mom’s library card in Canada, I’m able to access the library and make downloads here. However the Kobo I have is also from Canada.
I bought a Japanese Kobo a couple of years ago and used a guide online to change a portion of the code so that I could use Overdrive via my Canadian library.
I can’t find the exact guide I used, but the discussion thread [here](https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=283967&page=2) hits on the right topic. I think I either changed the country code, or changed the affiliation in the directory like the last post describes. If you do a bit of searching online you could probably find the exact steps.
