The nightmare of driving license

Hello
So I’m unfortunately live in Saitama and after going to the driving center twice to accept my papers, they gave my a driving exam schedule after 4 MONTHS and this is the nearest, I need the license asap for personal reasons, so does anyone know if I can show up on an earlier date and beg them to get me in the queue, will that work or Japanese doesn’t do it , any chance ? The driving center is 2 hours far from where I live so I want to know first

  1. You can show up at the driving license center to ask if anyone has cancelled their earlier slot and if you could be shifted, or you could call the driving license center to ask the same thing. But if they have no open slots, no amount of begging is going to make them slot you in on the day itself.

  2. It won’t work, but are you converting a valid license from your home country? If so do you have an IDP you can use?

  3. That’s the sucky part of living in prefectures with a dense population. In Nara we can get appointments within the week. Definitely show up early to see if there are cancellations.

  4. Call every morning and see if they can get you in. I did that on mine and was able to squeeze in much earlier
