I’m traveling to Japan mid September, and came up with this itinerary after exhausted all the tips and advices from everyone in this sub. Looking for feedbacks to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Thank you in advance.
**Day 0**
Landed in Haneda, check in hotel in Shinjuku and roam around if we still have energy
**Day 1 – Harajuku + Shibuya**
Meiji Jingu
Takeshita street + Omotesando
Center Gai + Shibuya Crossing
Shibuya Sky during sunset
**Day 2 – Asakusa + Akihabara**
Nakamise + Sensoji
Skytree
Exploring Akihabara + Eorzea Cafe
**Day 3 – Ikebukuro + Nakano Broadway**
Sunshine City
Animate
Nakano broadway
**Day 4 – Odaiba + Yokohama** (First day of 14-day JR pass)
Tsukiji outer market (+ Hamarikyu gardens?)
Teamlab + Unicorn Gundam + Divercity
Cup Ramen Museum + Ramen Museum
Red brick warehouse + Chinatown
**Day 5 – Nikko**
Nikko day trip
**Day 6 – Kawaguchiko**
\*Buy Fuji Hakone pass
Kawaguchiko day trip
**Day 7 – Hakone**
Forward luggages to Osaka
Hakone loop
Check in ryokan before dinner
**Day 8 – Kobe + Osaka**
Travel to Kobe: Kobe harborland + Nankinmachi
After Kobe, train to Osaka + check in hotel in Umeda + explore around at night
**Day 9 – Osaka**
Shinsekai, Denden town, Kuromon, Hozenji Yokocho, Dotonbori
**Day 10 – Osaka – USJ**
USJ full day
**Day 11 – Kyoto – Higashiyama**
Kiyomizu dera + explore the streets
\*Rent bikes
Kodaiji, Heian Jingu, Nanzenji
Pretty much bikes along the philosopher’s path and stop by any temple/shrines, up until Ginkakuji.
Taxi back to hotel and spend the night at Gion
**Day 12 – Kyoto – Arashiyama**
start early for good pictures at the bamboo groves
Togetsukyo bridge + Tenryuji
\*Rent bikes
Jojakkoji, Gioji, Saga-Toriimoto, Otagi Nenbutsuji, Daikakuji
(If there’s still time + energy, Ninaji > Ryoanji > Kinkakuji)
Night at Nishiki market
**Day 13 – Nara**
start early at Fushimi Inari
Nara daytrip
**Day 14 – Himeji + Miyajima**
Forward luggages to Tokyo
Himeji
check in ryokan in Miyajima
explore Miyajima + Mt Misen
**Day 15 – Hiroshima – Tokyo**
Spend the morning in Hiroshima
Peace park + museum, atomic bomb dome, Shukkeien garden
Travel back to Tokyo + check in hotel in Asakusa.
Night at Sensoji
**Day 16 – Tokyo**
Gift shopping at Tokyo + flight.
