  1. Hello,

so lets see your plan. First impression was… its a bit of a mess. maybe it will make sense when I go deeper into it…

    day 1 (arrival)
you will be coming in from tokyo. you give us the hotel (this seems to be a chain with multiple hotels in kyoto. but they are all pretty much in the central / station area). So it would make sense to get there, leave the luggage, and then explore kyoto. so it makes sense to take an earlier train. still, I assume it will be around 11am when you can start exploring…
the philosophers path and eikando (another name of zenrinji) is a bit away, but more importantly, its right in higashiyama, where there is so much more to do, we shoould maybe dedicate a whole day there?

    day 2
fushimi inari is okay. but then, national garden. the one in the imperial palace? and why funaoka onsen? is that special? its quite a ways up in kita kyoto. theres probably easier to get to onsens in kyoto for you.

    day 3:
you can start with kiyomizudera very early, it opens at 6am. I suggest you not miss Kodaiji. The streets okay… you can explore more than that, head to Nanzenji, and you should also be able to visit Eikando. You may even be able to head along the philosophers path to ginkakuji
yasaka you can do after it gets dark. it wont close at 5pm

    day 4 osaka. okay

    day 5 kobe. okay

day 6 hiroshima. thats “interesting” yeah it can be done. first, I suggest we try to get you to the peace park as well. it is, even if it is sad, in my opinion a very valuable and important experience that every one should make if they can. you being in hiroshima I think you can make it. so head to miyajima as early as you can. enjoy the shrine. theres streets you can explore with food and souveniers. theres also more temples to explore when you head up from itsukushima. and there is a ropeway up the mountain. Its quite nice, but maybe hiking is not the right idea in august. maybe you would rather head back. so head back, and stop at hiroshima station and walk/streetcar your way to the park.

    day 7 arashiyama
i suggest you see tenryuji, and walk through the bamboo grove afterwards, you can head into the okochi sanso garden in there. its lovely. I dont understand the monkey park, so skip. you can see the bridge easily enough. you may have time left and see kinkakuji.

day 2 is a bit of a mess. day 1 and 3 have potential to be combined, day 7 is very light, especially when you skip the monkeys.

places I think you may have overlooked, kinkakuji/ryoanji, nijo castle, maybe nishiki.

i think you can optimize a little

  2. Hi there,

If I add places in August 29,
    maybe Heian-Jingu and Nanzen-ji.

These places are near at your destination Zenrin-ji.
You can take a bus easily.

Also there are so famous and I think worth seeing in Kyoto.
Big Torii and Suimon(big old flood gate)would make you suprised!

Hope you will have fun days in Japan!
