I recently renewed my residence card and got mail to schedule pick up for my number card, or to go to the postal office.
I was just checking this morning how to get it, etc, and the due date for the postal office to keep it was yesterday (August 7).
I tried finding info about how to proceed online, but couldn’t find definitive answer.
Does anyone know if I have to go to my city hall? Setagaya ward

Try the post office first, if they already got rid of it then go to the city hall.
How could you miss it? I recently got a my number card myself and my pick-up window was 4 months. Is this different for different municipalities or what?
Call City Hall. Setagaya’s has an English (and Korean and Chinese) help number if you don’t know Japanese: 03-5432-2892.
You’re probably okay. I forgot about mine until right before the pickup date, and when I called in a panic, they said it’s just a guideline and it wouldn’t have been thrown out right away. Definitely call soon and check though.
The Kobe City Hall said the post office would hold it for a week if I missed the courier, and if not picked up in that time would send it back to the City Hall. Yours could be the same.
Just go to the city hall, they will send another letter, pick that letter up and get it
Didn’t go to my appointment, picked it up months later at the city hall. Didn’t even have to wait.
