Hikuleo’s been catching a lot of strays over this (and over the possibility of it before it actually happened) but I think he’s had a very good G1 and think he’s improved a ton lately. Really enjoyed his matches with Kaito, Yota, and Shota.
If there was quarter finals when Fale was around he’d have 100% made a few, and as big giants go Hikuleo smokes Fale.
I feel Hikuleo needed this the most out of all the young guys. Shota, Tsuji, Ren, Kidd etc. have all made a big splash since returning from excursion. This will help put his name in the hat with the rest of them
But pls get him some new gear hehe
Hikuleo won me over this tournament, I’m happy he’s advancing. I think he’s made a unique opponent for a lot of A block. I say this as someone who had zero interest in Hikuleo beforehand.
I wonder if a lot of the people shitting on him for advancing have been skipping his matches. I think of all the debutants, Hikuleo needed this the most.

I see where people are coming from and I think they totally have a point. But it’s not like he totally shit the bed, his size makes for a solid win for someone and he is the most senior of this group of newer talent they’re pushing. Wouldn’t be my pick but it’s not that big of a deal either.
The only dud that could have advanced in the A block is Chase I was iffy on it earlier, but I’m totally fine with Hikuleo advancing
People seem to forget that Hikuleo is over asf in Japan & he ousted Jay White from the promotion, he’s a big deal in NJPW kayfabe.
I’m not saying Hikuleo is over in Japan but its clear he has a bright future. Hes prettys good for a giant type wrestler & more importantly he ran White out of the company. Hikuleo getting a push should be expected, I’m surprised by the backlash.
