I’ve moved to Tokyo last month to join my parents. I’ve finished O levels before moving and I’m currently looking for good international schools here. Explored ASIJ, but reviews are mixed about their teaching. Considering Tokyo International School, GIIS, and Tokyo Kogakuen World School. Any other recommendations for a place with quality education? I’ve went to a top school back in my country, so I’m wondering if there’s any list with the best international schools in Tokyo?

If such a list exists (I’m sure it does) you are paying money to get the name. The education quality for the final 2 years of your education is all up to you. If money isn’t a problem, by all means go to the top school. It’ll make life easier. But the quality of the education isn’t what is going to make you smarter. You could just end up paying good money for the name. Japanese companies still look at the name of the schools of course.
what are your plans for university?
I can’t help you much given my kids are younger but I understand your concern.
My eldest had to leave a top school too and to this day, it still makes me feel bittersweet about the relocation.
I suggest to get familiar with the latest university placements, IB scores (number of applicants, average score, % over 35 etc..) etc.
In terms of IB schools Seisen international for girls and St Mary international for boys show excellent scores.
Good Luck
