Hi! I’m just wondering if I have to declare my gold jewelry such as earrings or rings at the airport. I have an expensive pair (3000 USD) of earrings if that is relevant somehow.
I tried the Visit Japan Web app and they ask you if you’re bringing products of gold. Do I have to say yes? I have looked around and have found conflicting sources.

Even if you needed to declare personal jewelry (stuff that you’re not planning on selling or giving to anyone) you’d be under the the threshold where customs is concerned (approx 1,000,000jpy or around $7kUSD).
So you’ll be fine.
