1-to-1 Eikaiwa job teaching adults

Looking for an eikaiwa job where I can teach mainly adults and receive visa sponsorship. I haven’t had luck applying to some of the big eikaiwa chains. Gaba and ECC never offer me an interview after applying. Was rejected by NOVA and AEON. I’m working as a part-time ALT in Tokyo and part-time at a small Eikaiwa school in Yokohama, but I’m mostly working with kids, which is taking a toll on my health (I have sacroiliitis). Are there other options out there?

  1. The more conditions you add to your preferred teaching situation, the more difficult it will be to find a job. There are dispatch companies that deal primarily in business classes, and there are some private colleges that may have loose hiring policies too. You will have to check your local bulletin boards for those. Im not sure whether they offer 1-to-1 classes though. Whether or not they can sponsor your visa is another story too. It is possible to sponsor your own visa if you can prove you have a high enough income though.

  2. Have you tried Shane?
It’s an eikaiwa I worked for in Fukuoka, and they have schools all over the country.
From my time there, it was a better run outfit than NOVA and AEON.
My usual shift would involve one group class of JHS students, then all one-to-one adult classes.
