1. Good memories for me as this was the first G1 I was able to follow from beginning to end. It was such a great experience and this capped it off nicely. Watching this reminds me of how great Tanahashi was in this era, he’s in peak form here. Naito, who IIRC had somewhat of a mediocre tournament performance, really turned it up in this final match and earned the win but this would spell the end of Stardust Genius Naito as he ultimately failed to get the fans behind him afterward.
