  2. Note that there are not that many stores in Mt.
Temperatures in Japan are not stable at the end of October, so you should check daily during your trip.

Hokkaido, Osaka, and Tokyo are not a problem because many of these cities are well-developed for easy travel, but in mountainous areas such as Mt. Fuji, the weather can be rough and the ability to see beautiful scenery depends on the luck of the traveler.

I visited Lake Kawaguchi near Mt. Fuji in June this year, and many travelers were disappointed because they could not see the scenery due to bad weather. I was also impressed by the fact that many people could not find good restaurants and ended up eating at convenience stores.

  3. Hi!

Did you look at the blooming times for the fields at Tomita Farm?

The Autumn Field is the only field that might have something in bloom while you are there.

Though it says peak viewing is early July to late September.

Flowerland Kamifurano only has a farm store open in October, their gardens close at the end of September:

None of the people who live in Osaka or Tokyo like the Go Karts. No one is going to be waving to you or smiling at you as you go past.

I think Day 8 is going to be very hard. Hakone Shrine is quite far from the 5th Station and if you plan to stay in ryokan, most want you there for dinner by 5ish at the latest. I think this will be hard to do.

    Good luck!

  4. I would say forget about Kyoto on Day 6, and spend all of Day 7 in Kyoto. You could easily add another day or more to properly explore Kyoto.

It doesn’t look like you need a JR pass – I can’t imagine you’re recovering the cost going basically just from Osaka to Tokyo with it.

  5. You’re sure you want to go to Kiyomizu temple in Osaka and not Kyoto right? The very famous one is the one in Kyoto. I find Nara and Kyoto in one day a bit much, I’d try to budget an entire day for Kyoto. Btw, don’t forget to visit Shirohige falls (very close to Shirogane Blue Pond)

  6. I can’t comment too much on the Osaka and Tokyo portion of your itinerary as it’s been a number of years since I’ve spent a meaningful amount of time there… but you may want to do a little bit more research as to whether the flowers are blooming during your visit.

I’ve been to Hokkaido in October before, and if your heart is not set on seeing Biei and Furano, might I suggest verring in a different direction and consider heading to Otaru or a little further to Yoichi (if anyone is a fan of whiskey Nikka distillery is thrte) with a detour south via Lake Toya or a day trip to Noburibetsu? If I recall correctly Lake Toya has fireworks nightly until late October, and some of the best hot springs I’ve ever visited in Japan was in Noburibetsu.

That said there’s no right or wrong itinerary here. I hope you guys have the best trip!
