Climbed Mt. Tsukuba for the first time in a while, the city of Tsukuba and/or the Ibaraki government have invested a surprising amount in modernizing the tourist infrastructure there. There is a brand new fully staffed information center, a new touchscreen at the shrine and even a covered rest area for when it rains. I guess they expect an influx of tourists, weren’t any yesterday but that could have been because of the weather
