Hi, the question is which would you recommend living in: a very large share house or social residence (like 80 residents) or a small share house (8-10 residents). I’m quite undecided and don’t know which might be better. I don’t mind both, but I’d like to know any stories you have regarding your experiences in both, if what I’m saying makes any sense. Thanks.

**Living with 50+ people VS Living with 10 people or so (Sharehouse question)**

The 80 resident share house, it would be a lot easier to meet new people and practice Japanese if that’s what you’re trying to do. Someone will always be in the kitchen or share living room. Most likly you will also have people around who annoy you. Making a mess like leaving trash where they were just sitting or not washing their own dishes etc.
The 8-10 residents. You most likely wont meet anyone or see them rarely. Most of them will probably just keep to themselves.
That’s all it really boils down to.
To add to my other post you should also choose it on amenities. How close is the grocery store? Is there a gym near by? Nightlife? Tran Station?
For me I’d be more concerned with what the building construction is like (e.g. wood vs concrete) and what the cleaning schedule for the common areas is (if any). Are they the same for both?
My friend lived in a 8-10 person sharehouse and everyone was friendly with each other, but I think it’s very much luck-based what kind of people you’ll meet.
