Is the name or the character by the way
My question is about the particle と, Which function does it do here ? The graded reader I got this line from said it translates to “And”, But I’m sure と can mean “and” only when listing things
(noun)です vs. (noun)なんです
… what’s the difference between the two ways of saying ‘this is (noun)’? 😐
I’m trying to name one of my characters and I’m between the names Kiraku and Keraku. The meaning of them are the same, using the kanji for intensity(祁) and comfort(楽) and ki and ke are the two onyomi readings for 祁. I don’t have a very good grasp on what makes a name sound masculine or feminine, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether these names lean in any particular direction or if they just sound gender neutral, thanks!

I don’t understand the して知った part, is して the te form of する and so “I was *made* to know” is that it?
And if I say 齢四歳に知った then does that mean “I knew” and wasn’t forced to if that makes sense?
I am currently using the [Tsukuba Web Corpus](https://tsukubawebcorpus.jp/search/) when learning vocabulary to see example sentences etc. I am also using the frequency count to determine if a word is worth learning. Is there any other better way to determine a word’s frequency?
When 午後 is said, could this include nighttime? For example
