I am trying to apply for the Canadian citizenship certification for my daughter online, I know that all documents must be translated into English, so I was going to get my friend to translate for me but he would need to have a affidavit sworn in the presence of a natory public, which I have no idea where to find one.
So I am just wondering if anyone have any recommdation for translation services that’s less of a hassle?

Different situation (kind of) but maybe applicable.
We self-translated our Japanese marriage certificate for the Malaysian embassy (to register our marriage there) and we were directed to go to the local notary public’s office (å…¬è¨¼å½¹å ´) to have it notarized. You can find one by googling this term.
I don’t think they even checked the English, just had us sign stuff and they stamped it. It wasn’t too complicated.
Where do you live? The embassy in Tokyo offers [notorial services](https://www.international.gc.ca/country-pays/japan-japon/tokyo-info.aspx?lang=eng#NS), which is probably the cheapest option but involves an appointment.
When I completed the application for my child I searched around online for a reputable translator and had them do it, as I don’t live near the embassy. It was not cheap, but considering how long the process takes the last thing I wanted was for my child’s application to be rejected because they didn’t like the translations.
If you go that route make sure the person is certified and has experience translating the documents you need.
