October 2 week Itinerary Check

Hello I have my honeymoon coming up in October – 2 week trip. I have not fleshed out the Tokyo days at the end much. That is the last segment to plan. Any major errors or suggestion help would be appreciated.

10/15 – SFO-NRT (3:30 arrival)
– Pick up Welcome Suica – Sakura mobile data sim card – JR pass (but set activation date to 10/17am)
– Hotel is in the Ginza district – relaxing dinner – walk around a bit

10/16 – Hakone
– Head to Hakone in the morning – have shuttle pick up at Odawara station at 11:15am – Enjoy lake and ropeway – head back to Onsen hotel to relax and enjoy dinner – lite stress day to process jet lag

10/17 Kyoto 1
JR pass is now active – shuttle to Odawara arrives at station 11am – Get to Kyoto around mid afternoon
– Philosopher’s path around 3pm – explore – Dinner in Pontocho area

10/18 – Kyoto 2
9 am couples photo tour in Gion area until 10:30am
11:30am – Monkey Park
1:30pm – Sagano scenic train
Dinner – Kyoto Ramen restaurant

10/19
– early Fushimi Inari
– lunch Nishiki market
– afternoon Nijo castle (add Kyoto imperial castle)?

10/20 Hiroshima
Train to Hiroshima early –
11am – Hiroshima Peace Museum – Atomic Dome – Lunch in area
5pm – Itsukushima Jinja
Dinner – Okonominura

10/21 Osaka
Early train back to Osaka
11am – Osaka Castle – lunch
2pm – Osaka Aquarium
later – Volks Osaka toy shop
5:40pm Osaka Bar Hoping tour

10/22 Kanazawa
early train to Kanazawa
11:30am – Kenrokuen Garden
12:30pm – Omicho Market lunch
1:30pm – Contemporary Art Museum
3pm – Higashi Chaya District
Dinner – Mori Mori Sushi

10/23 Toyko 1
Train back to Tokyo from Kanazawa (last day of JR pass)
– Hotel is in Ginza – explore (laundry day?)

10/24 Tokyo 2
Morning walk
6pm – teamLab Planets

10/25 Tokyo 3
DisneySea

10/26 Tokyo 4
Imperial palace

10/27 Tokyo 5
Free day

10/28 Tokyo 6
Final shopping 11pm HND flight back to SFO

  1. 10/20 to 10/23 is a lot of travelling. For 1 night I would skip Kanazawa and either spend it in Osaka or do a day trip to like Nara.

    Also you can do Hiroshima as a day trip from Osaka if you leave very early.
