Sophia University, do you think I can get in?

Hello, I am a Japanese student who lived internationally for over 10 years and goes to an international school. I wish to go back to Japan for uni and I wish to go to Sophia university. I can speak both Japanese and English fluently.
My Igcse grades are:
A* in Maths and second language Eng, A in business studies, B in econ, geography, history, biology
My As level results are
B+ in Maths, History and Geography and B- in Economics so 4Bs in As levels
I did not take a levels yet and plan to apply with my predicted grades from As levels.
I’m planning to take Ielts in early September so I don’t have the results for that yet.
Do you guys think I can get in?

  2. I can’t speak for the international admissions but if you go the Japanese AO route, the bar is on the floor for English speakers – for context, Eiken Grade 1 goes a long way.

If you speak fluent Japanese, and if you’re non-STEM, why don’t you apply with 一般入試 too? I got in without doing any Sophia-specific prep, because their Japanese is insanely difficult that prep doesn’t make too much of a difference, and World History gets a lot easier since a lot of it is not that difficult for English speaker (can’t speak for Japanese History or Math since I didn’t use them).

  3. If you studied 10 years with English as medium of education, you might get exempt from shipping IELTS/TOEFL.

All in all, I think your chainces are good, write a good essay, and maybe sit SAT/ACT and send them good scores as an option.
